Tokyo Game Show 2024

We are proud to be covering the 2024 Tokyo Game Show!

As a passionate content creator, attending the Tokyo Game Show (TGS) 2024 was an experience that surpassed all my expectations. This year’s event was buzzing with excitement, especially in the YouTube Creator Lounge, where I got to connect with fellow creators and dive into some of the most anticipated games of the year. Let me take you through my incredible journey!

This year, a record 985 exhibitors from 44 countries and regions are showcasing their latest titles at one of the largest gaming trade fairs in the world. According to the organizer, the Computer Entertainment Supplier’s Association, the number of exhibitors has increased from last year’s 787, featuring a record 2,850 game titles on display. Notably, 535 foreign companies participated, making up over half of the total exhibitors.

Among the major players, Sony Interactive Entertainment Inc. has made a comeback after a five-year hiatus to introduce its latest console, the PlayStation 5 Pro, which boasts upgraded graphics processing units for improved image quality. The console is set to be released on November 7.

Among the international exhibitors at the event was Saudi Arabia’s Qiddiya. The company is developing a vast entertainment city just outside Riyadh, which will feature a stadium, a Formula One track, e-sports facilities, and the world’s first theme park dedicated to the globally beloved anime and manga series “Dragon Ball.” Its cyberpunk-themed booth, complete with crane games, was designed to provide a sneak peek into this experimental city, part of the country’s efforts to transition from an oil-based economy to one centered on entertainment.

One of the best displays came from a company that’s involvement in a recent lawsuit related to intellectual property issues, particularly around its design elements and gameplay mechanics, didn’t stop them from bringing one heck of a showcase to TGS. Palworld, developed by Pocket Pair, has garnered attention for its gameplay, which mixes elements of creature collecting with survival mechanics. The game has drawn comparisons to titles like “Pokémon” due to its creature-collection aspect.

Attendees could delve into interactive demos, watch eye-catching cosplayers around engaging props, and meet pals! The booth drew fans and newcomers alike, emphasizing the game’s quirky charm and cooperative multiplayer features. Fans could play a Palworld themed crane game, ride a Jetragon, and even feel what it’s like to be captured in a 10′ tall cage!

Tokyo Game Show 2024 was a vibrant spectacle, with cosplayers adding an extra layer of excitement to the event. Fans dressed as characters from popular games, anime, and manga brought creativity and energy to the show floor. From intricate, handcrafted costumes to impressive makeup and props, the dedication of the cosplayers was on full display.

Many attendees posed for photos, showcasing their favorite characters, while some participated in cosplay contests that highlighted both craftsmanship and performance. The atmosphere was lively, with groups of cosplayers collaborating for photo shoots and fans excitedly sharing their experiences on social media.

Overall, the cosplaying community at TGS 2024 contributed significantly to the festival’s celebratory vibe, creating a memorable experience for everyone involved. Did any particular costumes or groups stand out to you?
